Embodied Savasana

During our time together, we will unpack the anatomy & energetic signature of five restorative asana/poses:

  • Savasana & Basic Relaxation Pose
  • Supta Baddha Konasana (Reclining Bound Angle) & Simple Supported Pose
  • Salamba Balasana (Supported Child's Pose)
  • Savasana prone/face down
  • Supported Side Lying pose

This study will create a deeper understanding of the meditations paired with each pose. This course will require minimal props, enhance stillness within the practitioner, and are prenatal/postpartum appropriate.
The intentions of this course are for existing yoga teachers to continue on with studies and for anyone wishing to deepen their personal practice. The course will include a lecture of each pose with all basic variations paired with a guided meditation for personal practice. There will also be a lecture of suggestive theme pairing and sequencing which would serve each final pose best to truly cultivate an Embodied Savasana. I look forward to guiding you through cultivating intentional rest....

The course is designed to be completed in sequence and you will have 3 months to submit all of the assigned homework. Completion of the assignments is required to receive Yoga Alliance CE credits.

Erin's course was very informative. It's such a great course to learn about restorative yoga for yourself or to share with loved ones, and also if you're wanting to use portions of restorative in teaching yoga classes. I use the techniques I learned from  the Embodied course when I teach my Flow and Restore class. Erin's course was especially helpful because not only did I learn practical information on cuing and adjusting, but she shared some of her personal experiences with the restorative poses covered and how to best relay information to a yoga class. I really enjoyed the Embodied course!
